Prague Tours – There are a plethora of tours available to the visitor around Prague. If you are walking beside the Charles Bridge, tour guides tend to find you rather than the other way around, and boats offering river cruises can be found along the jetties at Stare Mesto, Certovka Stream and Mala Strana. Prague Venice, telephone 224 990 990-7, offer 30 minute boat excursions down the Certovka Mill Stream in Kampa at 10.30am July & Aug and at 8pm from March to June and in Sep & Oct. Most tourist offices, and certainly the Prague Information Service, has a wide range of guides, all experts in their fields, that can educate and inform you about Prague and the Czech Republic. Some tours combine sightseeing tours by boat with Romantic dinners onboard while others teach you about the Velvet Revolution and the political uprisings that have plagued the country. Either way, a cheap and easy way of getting your bearings on arrival is if you take the 40 minute ride on Tram #22 that travels from Vinohrady to Hradcany via the centre. A ticket should only set you back 2Kc and you can sit and relax while the sights come to you.
