PRAGUE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Prague International Airport – Lying 20km north-west of the city, Prague’s Ruzyne airport was refurbished in the 1990’s and has café’s, restaurants, ATM’s and currency exchange offices, left luggage facilities and tourist information offices in the Arrivals Hall. At the moment the airport is only served by buses although some hotels will collect guests from the terminal building. Call 220 113 314 for arrival and departure information.

Travel Guide

Airport Express Bus
Quick and cheap, the bus drops people off at namesti Republiky and Revolucni in the centre of town every half an hour daily from 8am-8pm. Buy tickets from the driver or at the Tourist Information office in arrivals.

Cedaz Minibus
Telephone – 220 114 296
A private company that can take you to namesti Republiky and Dejvicka metro station every hour from outside the arrivals building. If you want to be dropped off directly at your hotel then expect to pay 360Kc for one to four people and pay the driver when you get on.

Local buses
There are three buses that leave from outside the arrivals terminal every 20 minutes from 5am-midnight. The #179 goes to the Metro Nove Butovice station (yellow line B), the #108 to Metro Hradcanska (green line B) or the #119 to Metro Dejvicka (green line A). The down side is that they can get extremely busy and cramped – particularly if you’re carrying a lot of luggage, and take a while to get to their destinations so leave plenty of time for the return journey. Buy tickets from the machines or the information desks in the airport.

Taxi’s
Normal taxi’s are not allowed onto the airport grounds, so look out for the white Airport Cars at the ranks by arrivals. The fares are regulated by the airport authority so you shouldn’t be caught out and it will cost about 450Kc to the centre, and more to the other side of the city. There is, however, a 20 per cent discount for return journeys.
